Despite have been in lock down for five times, Melbourne real estate agents believed that there will be flood of buyers and sellers to hit Melbourne’s real estate market as the restrictions ease down.
“Particularly after long lockdowns, there seems to be a huge, pent-up demand from vendors, like last year where there was a big flood of owners wanting to push the button and list,” said Tim Heavyside who is the Flethchers Canterbury director and auctioneer. (Domain, 2021)
Domain chief of research and economics Nicola Powell said the slight increase in listings in Melbourne was lower than expected, but that should change when the restrictions lighten up.
“I think what that illustrates is that many sellers were ready to list but waiting for the [more solid] announcement of an easing of restrictions,” said Nicole Powell (Domain, 2021)
